Australian start-up Fleet Space Technologies is embarking on the biggest capital raising in its four-year history to help fund the launch of 10 nano-satellites from next year, to boost infrastructure for users of up to three million devices eyeing its internet-of-things tracking network.
Chief executive Flavia Tata Nardini said Fleet’s low-cost approach was proving the right strategy, with dozens of companies registering a total of one million devices for the satellite network that can monitor things from cattle movements in the outback to temperature shifts among beehives in California.
A further two million devices are on a waiting list.
