        Greetings from Project SESEI!
        On behalf of Project SESEI and its stakeholders, I take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year 2020.
        In the second edition of our “SESEI Newsletter Europe”, we have brought together information and updates on the various government initiatives, policies, market updates, policy & regulatory decisions and standards development activities being carried out in India around our project priority sectors.
        This exchange of updates and information form a core part of the Project SESEI objectives, ensuring that the stakeholders and partners are always fully abreast and aware of the important developments and standardization related information concerning priority sector in India.
        In this edition, read about the
        Joint workshop organized by CEN CENELEC along with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in India on 26th & 27th November 2019, towards creating close working relationship and to understand the commonalities and gaps on standardization strategy and standards development process between India, Europe & Globally.
        Stricter mechanism to increase the exports and curbing imports of non-essential items through stricter technical regulations and standards.
        The authority of international quality standards for products and services has been recognized to increase the trade & services.
        BIS will work to ensure that all standards are in line with global standards.
        In ICT updates on adoption of National Standards for IoT/ M2M in India by TEC.
        Efforts by DoT for standardization of Artificial Intelligence and progress made by DoT on auction of spectrum for 5G.
        In the automotive sector, creation of ecosystem for electrical vehicles is of key importance.
        All possible efforts by the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Road & Transport as well as Heavy Industries is being initiated to have an effective infrastructure in place for the onset of electrical vehicles in the country by 2030
